Daniel started at Bergen Center for Child Development when he was 14 years old. Initially, he had trouble controlling his emotions, and struggled with self-confidence.
Our intimate, nurturing environment helped Daniel develop coping skills and experience meaningful success at school. Our comprehensive program offered him many outlets to build his confidence, including our school basketball team, where Daniel was a standout shooting guard.
Our Getting REAL transition program helped prepare Daniel for work through interview and job readiness skills. Daniel, a Bergen County resident, graduated in June 2016 and is now working as a busboy in two restaurants.
He is preparing to begin trade school in order to advance his education and we are confident that he will succeed in whatever he chooses to do.
